I'm Alive.

It's been a few days... well, I have/had the flu.  I guess I'm on the tail end of it, but let's just say, the past couple of  sleep-filled days have not been fun.  But, I have made it out alive, and I am ready to face these terrifying and stressful next couple of weeks.
For school, work samples are due again. Joy.  That means, I have to type up yet another useless paper and send it in to my teacher along with other things.  On, the bright side, next weekend, will be less annoying, but more stressful. :/ Next weekend is my big meet in Colorado, and the Super Bowl! Yay! I'm really excited about my meet, because it's been a while since I've competed in an out of town meet. But, I'm very sad that I can't be sitting in my aunt's living room in front of her big TV, along with my other Steelers-crazed relatives, but I will be wearing my Troy Polamalu jersey on the plane ride home :)
I hope everyone else is staying healthy and happy!

Love Always

From Dallas to Italy...

Today was the day. The day we sent my sister off to Rome.  It was quite a morning, we got to the airport at 8:30 ish.  It really didn't take very long to get her boarding pass, and her bags weighed.  And so because Emily is the oldest, and therefore, the first one to go off on her own for more than a couple of weeks...(not including college, considering she goes to a college that is within reasonable driving distance from our house), my mother saw to it that she would make sure Emily got safely through security (the guard didn't like that very much...) So my other older sister, Hannah, made sure to take the pictures of Emily taking of her shoes and walking through security in her socks. It was quite hilarious, and after some shed tears, we made it back to the car.  I will defiantly miss my older sister, but I hope she has a wonderful and memorable time in Rome.

Love Always

Amazing and Amazing.

I am hooked on this band, Parachute. I think I have been listening to their album "Losing Sleep" (the album cover made my think of my amazing friend Lindsey's love for taking hipstamatic picturesfor the past 24 hours. With the exception of my gymnastics meet, which, by the way, was pretty good for my not having competed in two years.  I am pretty sure that my favorite song is.... wait never mind, there all amazing.
On the topic of amazing, my amazing older sister Emily is going to Rome, Italy for college for her next semester and while I am sad that I'm not gonna see her, I'm excited that I get to have her phone for the 4 months.  But she is going to blog while she is there. Here is the link to it. I think you should go and look at it.

Love Always,
Margaret

P.S. I have no idea why the first picture is off centered, but I already spent like 10 minutes trying to fix it. I'm done trying.

A Big Weekend.

Tomorrow is my first meet of the season. I'm psyched! I am pretty nervous though, gahhh. Especially because everyone on my team is getting sick. Not so great timing, I think.
Then, on Sunday, my entire evening will be devoted to watching the Steelers game.  I really hope they go to the Super Bowl. I swear, it will make my life.
Also, I woke up this morning and it was like 25 degrees outside.  And there was zero snow on the ground.  In my personal opinion, it should not be that cold without snow.  It is just not right.
Oh, and I have a new favorite song. Not exactly a favorite, just one that I am obsessed with. It's called For the First Time and it's by The Script.

Love Always,
Margaret

P.S. Who knows when glee is coming back on? ;)

This makes me want to play the piano again...

So, a couple weeks ago I found this lady on YouTube.  Her name is Sunny Choi.  She is an amazing pianist.  I love love love listening to her especially while I study.  Sometimes, I tend to start singing the songs that I am listening to and I get off tract. But I don't want to listen to boring classical either.  Sunny Choi is and excellent happy medium.

P.S.  My favorite covers are Fireflies and Halo:)

Facebook Likes, Gymnastics Playlists, and Amazing Cousins.

So I just found this "like" on facebook. Yes, I am one of those people that sometimes gets absorbed into the "like" pages. And I love it. But anywayss... here it is:
Lady Gaga taught me Its okay to be different.
Ke$ha taught me to be myself and not care what anyone else thinks.
Bruno Mars taught me to do anything for that one person I love.
Eminem taught me that life is hard but you can make it through.
Taylor Swift taught me not every guy is going to treat me right.
Michael Jackson taught me to always love the people around me.
Bob Marley taught me to live my life in peace.
Music taught me how to live.

'Tis the season. No, not that season. The other one. Yes... competition season for gymnastics is upon us and quite frankly, I am freaking out.  It's been a while sense I have competed and I am just a tad nervous. Ok, well more than a tad. And so I thought I would share with you my pump up playlist with you. The one that I listen to at meets or before practice or whatever:

Skyway Avenue - We the Kings
Shut Up and Let Me Go - The Ting Tings
One More - Superchick

And one last thing... my cousin, Eric, is from Illinois but he visits every year at Christmas for a short while. Last year when he came down, he played with my dad's guitar and stuff, but when he came back down this year he brought his own and boy has he gotten good. I swear, if he gets famous... I warned you. He has a great voice and he is a really fast guitar learner. So the other day he posted a couple of videos on facebook of him playing a cover of "She is Love" by Parachute and a video of him playing an original of his. I'll see if he can post them on YouTube so I can put up a link. He's good. End of story. And when he becomes super rich, he's gonna buy me a sweet guitar to replace my crappy Epiphone.

Sometimes...

I have those days when I come home from gym (yes, I am a gymnast) and I sit down at my computer and do absolutely nothing productive. This was one of those days.
Today at gym I got super discouraged.  I feel like I'm not getting some of my skills fast enough, and my competition season is in 16 days ( a few of my teammates find it scary and annoying that I know this ;)  ).  But today was worse because one of teammates got a skill that I have been working on for so long.  While, yes, I am happy for her, I can't help but be jealous and wish that I was better.  And it doesn't help whenever she gloats.  But I always keep in mind that... "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." - Philippians 4:13

P.S. Here is a song that I like to listen to when I am sad or discouraged.  It never gets old :)

Spoon

So just the other day I found out that my dad has a connection to the lead singer in the band Spoon (the blonde one). My dad is really good friends with that guy's dad. How cool? I knew that my dad knew a someone in a and but I didn't think it was a well known band (they're big in Austin).  So I YouTubed them and they're pretty good...my favorite song is The Underdog. Check out their website!

Drive-In

Last night, I went to a drive-in theatre with my family. We got there early and my dad took out the back seats of his car so we could sit and have dinner.

It was so much fun! We saw a double feature: Tron Legacy, and then Tangled.  Tron was kind of weird and confusing, but I have to say, I liked the techno music in it.  Tangled, though, was adorable.  In between movies, we got hot chocolate and snuggled up with blankets.  It was a perfect end to and alright break.

A New Year

Hi. My name is Margaret. I am making this somewhat of a New Year’s resolution. It actually started with my gorgeous friend Lindsey.  She has a blog of her own that originally started as a fashion and cooking blog.  However, considering I am not an expert at cooking and I am not as much as a fashion extraordinaire as she, I thought I would base my blog on something else that I am passionate about… music.

I love music. I play guitar, and my iPod currently holds 900 some songs (it’s limit. Obviously.)  I believe that music can change people.  I believe that it can make people feel and do extraordinary things.  I believe that music can bring people together. I believe that music can inspire you in a way that nothing else can. I believe in music.

So here is a song that is kind of old, but I like. I am currently learning it on guitar.  And before you listen all I have to say is: I suck at bar chords.

Well, I hope you have a Happy New Year!
